Project Glass : Is It For Real ?

Project Glass is a concept product intended to develop an augmented reality head-mounted display .
      



DEVELOPMENT
In the hands of Google X Lab.

INTENDED USE
User may be able to perform  tasks such as scheduling meetings, taking pictures, checking the weather, getting directions, and placing a video call. The information simply hovers in the user's field of view, and the interface is controlled by voice or other inputs.

STRUCTURE
These glasses have a small second screen presumably for the video output above one of the lenses, with an extra thick arm that extends back to the ear

STATUS
Google says it is gathering feedback from users on Project Glass for how to better the product .Google’s been talking up Project Glass a lot lately, even though there’s no release date yet.

EXPECTED RELEASE
It was previously reported that the glasses would be available to the public for "around the cost of current smartphones" by the end of 2012. It's unclear whether a product launch is still on track for the end of the year.
