Private Browsing : How To Hide Web History

As you browse the web , with any of the popular web browser like Chrome,IE ,Mozilla Firefox or Safari . Every web browsers store information such as browsing history, images, videos ,text within cache and downloaded files information .There may be sometimes , when you don't want other users on your computer to see this information, such as when shopping for a birthday present or when you are accessing the internet on your friend's computer or in office .Privacy mode is an way by which you can browse the Internet without saving any information about which sites and pages you’ve visited.Now the question is how we can use the privacy mode in different web browsers. Here we go 

Internet Explorer : Inprivate Browsing 
In Internet Explorer , you have to use the Inprivate browsing option to use the internet in privacy mode. To open the inprivate browsing mode we can either use Ctrl+Shift+P shortcut key or we can also open it by going in Tools ->InPrivate Browsing .

When you are accessing the internet inprivate mode , it will show the Inprivate tab on your address bar.


You can turn off the Inprivate mode by closing the current internet explorer windows .


Mozilla Firefox : Private Browsing
In Mozilla Firefox , you can access the privacy mode by clicking on to the Firefox button (Go into Tools menu in Windows Xp ) and select Start Private Browsing .You can also use the combination Ctrl+Shift+P to access the private browsing mode .


When you have clicked on Start Private Browsing ,Firefox generate an alert and ask you that would you like to Start Private Browsing .Click Start Private Browsing to continue. Check the box "Do not show this message again" if you don't want to receive this alert when you are turning on Private Browsing .


When you are browsing in Private mode , the Firefox button will be purple (for Windows XP the window title will say Private Browsing) during your session.



You can turn off Private Browsing session , by clicking on to the Firefox button (Tools menu in Windows XP) and select Stop Private Browsing.When Private Browsing is off , the Firefox button will turn orange again (for Windows XP the Firefox window title will no longer say Private Browsing) .





Chrome : Incognito Window
In Chrome a feature called incognito window allows users to browse internet in private mode . You can open incognito window by clicking on to the wrench icon and then select New Incognito window or you can either use Ctrl+Shift+N to open an incognito window .




When you are browsing in incognito mode , it will show the hatman icon on your address bar .



If you want to go back into the normal browsing mode , you can simply close the current incognito window and browse the internet .

Safari : Private Browsing
In Safari , you can access the internet in private mode by clicking on to the settings button and select Private Browsing..It will pop up a confirmation message  browsing mode . Click on OK to confirm that .


When you are browsing in private mode , it will show the private tab on your address bar.


While browsing a webpage using Safari, choose Settings and select Private Browsing (so the checkmark disappears), or click the Private button in the address field and click on OK to  turn off the private mode .
