How To Setup Multiple User Accounts In Windows 7

Home is a place where you are sharing your computer with your wife , son , daughter, but sometime you don't like anybody else to change the desktop background,uninstall the programs and change any windows settings without your permission .Windows provides you an option by which you can create multiple user accounts and keep separate his or her own preferred settings, documents, e-mail accounts, contacts and another data .This post describes how you can setup various user accounts with different privileges .

Step 1:
Click Start in windows and go  to Control Panel

Step 2 :
Select Add or remove user accounts listed under User Accounts and Family Safety .

Step 3 : 
You will see a screen that lists your current users account . Click  "Create a new account"

Step 4 :

You will now be at the Create New Account screen. In the New account name field enter the name of the new account that you would like to create , then you need to select the type of account. An Administrator's account has full access to the computer and can make all changes, install software, create and delete accounts. The other type of account is Standard user and has limited privileges as to what settings and changes it can make to the computer.After selecting a name and the type of account you should click on the Create Account button.

Step 5 :

Now double click on new user account to customize it .There are several changes you can make to  a particular user's account.

Change the account name :-

Change the account name option let you change the name of current user account .You can Type the New account name and click on "Change Name ".

Change the password :-

You can change the password of current user by clicking on change the password.Enter the  new password and confirm it by reentering then type the password hint and click on "Change Password".

Remove the password :-

If you want to remove the current password of particular user .Click on Remove the password and hit "Remove Passsword".

Change the Picture :-

Click on "Change the picture" to choose from vast selection of images to repersent the account on the login screen .Select the picture and click on "Change Picture" .

Setup Parental Controls :-

Change the account type :-

Change the account type option let you change the type of account .You can convert the Standard User into Administrator and vice-verse.You have to select the type of the account and click on "Change Account Type". 

Delete the account :

Select delete the account if you want to delete any user account. It will give you two options :

Delete Files 

Delete files will delete all the content of the user with user account .

Keeps Files        

Keeps files will delete the user account but keep all the  files (Documents, Pictures, Music, Favourites and Videos) and save it to your Desktop.

After selecting the option Click on "Delete Account" to delete the account completely.
