How To Change The Password Of Your Router

All  Network routers use  an administrator account to manage their WiFi networks, passwords and security. Generally the router manufacturers use default username and password for the admin account.Is this secure enough with the default password ? if the password of your router is same as the default password anyone can enter in your router web interface and hamper your work. To improve the security of your network, you should change the administrative password  of your router. Also, most of the users are not aware about the difference between the router password or wifi access point password . Router password is basically used to manage the router settings, firmware upgradation , Wifi access point management and many other important things related to router whereas  the Wifi access point password is required if you want to connect any new device to your Wifi. You can change the password of your router by doing simple changes in router settings :

Step 1 
Type "192.168.1.1" in the Web browser's address bar and press "Enter" to access the router's setup page. Usually you can use "192.168.1.1"  to access the router's setup page and if that is not working you can  google it  to find the manuals for you routers .
 

Step 2
Then it will ask you the router's username and password. The default username for most wireless routers is "admin," and the default password is "password," or you can try "admin". If both of them are not working please contact your ISP for details or try to find it on RouterPasswords .


Step 3 
After entering the password click on Login , look for Administrator Controls / Access Control of router and select Account/Change Password .


Step 4
Select Admin as username, enter your current password which you have used at the time of login. Then enter a new password and confirm the password again. Click on Apply/Save and we are done.
